Summer months are December through to February with warm, fine weather and blue skies frequent throughout the year.

Whangarei is in New Zealand’s only sub-tropical climate zone, with warm humid summers and mild winters. Typical summer temperatures in Whangarei range from 22 to 26 degrees celsius – 72 to 79 degrees fahrenheit – and often exceed 30 (86 degrees fahrenheit).

Winter daytime temperatures range from 12 to 17 degrees – that’s 53 to 63 fahrenheit, and can reach up to 20 (68 degrees fahrenheit).  It never gets really cold and outdoor activities are the norm all year round.
